CHICAGO Sept. 30, 2024 Gatesman continues to celebrate agency-wide success following three wins at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Chicago chapter’s annual Skyline Awards ceremony on Sept. 26.

“It is so rewarding to see this team be recognized for the hard work and creativity that goes into everything we do at Gatesman,” said Beth Thompson, VP, director of public relations and social media. “We prioritize agency-wide collaboration across our accounts and these projects are a reflection of the team’s unique thinking and widespread talent, and the success that comes from working together. I am so proud of what this team has accomplished this year, and know that there are many more achievements on the horizon.”

The Skyline Awards are Chicago’s premier public relations and communications awards competition, celebrating creativity and innovation in public relations and showcasing business impact and results.

Gatesman’s PR and social media team was honored with a Skyline Award and two Awards of Excellence for work completed across diverse categories.

A Skyline Award was presented in the Integrated Communications category for Gatesman’s work with CORE on a new campaign to increase organ donation registrations in CORE’s western Pennsylvania service areas. Following the success of an initial campaign geared toward the non-registered organ donor audience, Gatesman introduced the “No Body Is Perfect” campaign, showing that anybody can register as an organ donor, even those with misconceptions that they may not be qualified to register as a donor, due to age, health or “bad” habits.

An Award of Excellence in the Influencer Marketing category was awarded for Gatesman’s influencer campaign executed on behalf of USG Corporation. With a goal to increase brand awareness and reputation among USG’s established audience and prospective audience — artists and DIYers — USG partnered with sculptural artist Regiena Petersen to demonstrate that joint compound can be used by people other than contractors, and for projects outside of construction. Regiena’s Instagram Reel highlighted her sculpting process while showcasing why she prefers USG products. The viral video successfully reached both target audiences, garnering over 4.4M views.

Gatesman also received an Award of Excellence in the Events and Observances category for Pace Suburban Bus’ On Board with Pride campaign. As a proud participant in Chicagoland Pride parades, Pace wanted to go above and beyond in showing community members that they are committed to promoting and celebrating diversity, equity and inclusion all year long. Gatesman designed a prideful bus wrap, t-shirts, pronoun pins, social content and recruitment ads that encouraged everyone to embrace their own personal identity and show respect for each other. The colorful bus continued to serve Chicagoland riders all year long, extending Pace’s DEI commitment far beyond Pride Month.
